Well Lived NC — Cookie & Tracking Notice

Effective Date: July 06, 2026 Version: 1.0

This notice explains how Well Lived NC ("we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on welllivednc.com (the "Site"). It supplements our [Privacy Policy] and should be read alongside it.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to recognize your browser and remember certain information about your visit.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for the following purpose:

Analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site — which pages are viewed, how visitors arrived at the Site, general device and location information (city/region level, not precise address), and overall usage patterns. This helps us understand what's useful to visitors and improve the Site over time. Google Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Affiliate Links (Amazon Associates). Some equipment links within our recipe content may be Amazon affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Amazon uses its own cookies to track qualifying purchases made through these links — this is separate from, and unrelated to, the Google Analytics data described above. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Chat Assistant Rate Limiting. If you use our AI chat assistant, we use a functional identifier (not used for advertising or marketing) to recognize repeat use from the same browser, so we can apply a reasonable daily limit on questions and prevent abuse of the feature. This is separate from the analytics cookies described above.

If we add additional tracking technologies in the future (for example, tools tied to Featured/Paid listings, retargeting, or a business analytics dashboard), this notice will be updated to reflect them.

3. Your Choices

You have a few ways to control cookies:

  • Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or notify you when a cookie is being set. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to browse the directory, read content, or submit a listing — it only limits the usage data we collect.
  • Google Analytics Opt-out. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics across all websites you visit.
  • Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. There is currently no industry-standard way sites must respond to this signal, so we do not currently alter our tracking behavior based on it — this is consistent with common practice, but worth revisiting as standards evolve.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

Cookie-related data collected through the Site is processed by:

ServicePurpose
Google AnalyticsWebsite usage analytics
Amazon AssociatesAffiliate link purchase tracking (recipe equipment links only)

See our [Privacy Policy] for the full list of third-party services we use across the Site (including Stripe, Kit, Supabase, and Netlify), most of which do not set tracking cookies but do process information you provide directly.

5. Changes to This Notice

We may update this notice as our use of cookies and tracking technologies changes — for example, if we add tools tied to future paid features. The "Effective Date" above reflects the most recent version.
